It’s always a wonderful feeling to meet a delightful buyer, sell them their dream home and watch them put their own stamp on it. Adele, owner of Window Studio, did just that with this stunning Mount Street apartment.

Perched amongst the trees of Mount Street, this 1960’s apartment has been injected with glamour, style and just the right amount of attitude. Mixing luxurious finishes and textiles, elegant colours and some bold statements, this apartment beautifully reflects its owner and her impeccable taste.

I caught up with Adele (and her cute little dog Allegra), to find out more about her renovation and also talk all things textiles and window treatments.

You undertook quite the renovation to the apartment. What changes did you make and what are your favourite design features?

I renovated the entire apartment except for the bathroom, as I quite liked it. The apartment was given new floorboards, new kitchen, new wardrobes, new drop ceilings with a shadow line, new lighting, new curtains and new paint.

My favourite feature is the kitchen marble benchtops. The marble is called ‘Elba Hones’ from Artedomus.

Which space do you most enjoy in the apartment?

The living room. It’s so peaceful to sit back with the entire bi-folds wide open. The balcony overlooks directly into a tree which feels like I’m actually sitting in a tree house!

You’re not new to the design process. Tell me a bit about your business Window Studio and your love of window treatments and design.

When I was 23 years old I started working for a high-end luxury residential interior firm. That’s where I got my flair and love for fabrics and then progressed into a boutique window treatment company to further my practical experience and knowledge. Fast forward 17 years later and I now own Window Studio (@windowstudio) specialising in custom-made window treatments for the residential market. Window Studio had celebrated its 10 year anniversary last September. I deal with residential owners, builders, designers and architects so I have a great diversity with my business. The majority of my clients are based in the Western Suburbs so it made sense for when I was looking for my next home that it had to be within the zone of my clients, as I work from home. So here I am loving it on Mount St!

I understand you’ve recently launched a new business too – how exciting!

Well soon to launch…..in July actually!!! The online bespoke curtain store will specialise in linen and silk curtains either in sheers or blockout curtain options but with only having your curtains made in our popular curtain header choice as a S-Wave. The customers will be able to select their own size and array of fabrics & colours but will have to install themselves (or a handyman). The business is called Window Workroom (@windowworkroom) and will be available nation wide.
